Ethan Hawke is hard to peg.
In the ten years since Dead Poets Society, he's been a leading man, an ensemble player, a stage actor and even a novelist. His new film, Gattaca, serves as yet another indication of this talented and articulate young man's versatility.

Hardly your usual brand of chasing-across-the-galaxies sci-fi flick, Gattaca is a remarkably intelligent and adult piece which tackles the very sticky and timely subject of genetic tinkering. Mr. Hawke was recently in town to talk about Gattaca, and I was lucky enough to catch up with him and ask him a few questions about the film, his career and his philosophy of working.
